About Me

I have been crafting since May 2008, when in desperation to find an unusual birthday card for my Mum, I gave up looking in the shops and decided to have a go at making my own. I soon realised that crafting is addictive and I haven't brought a card since. I am slowly starting to sell my cards now to friends, family and work colleagues. As my confidence has grown I have started to enter Challenges on line and in magazines, and I love having to think outside of my comfort zone to come up with something different. I really like the current trend for vintage and shabby chic. I really enjoy using die cutting in my designs and am just starting to poke my toe in the water with regards to stamping and colouring my own images.

And speaking of Babies

As well as the mum to be card in my previous post another colleague has asked that I make her a new baby card fro her friend who is expecting a little girl any day now. So I went for something really pretty in pink and here it is.

I started with the pretty pink backing paper and matted this onto silver card and wrapped silver ric-rac round the panel which I then stuck to an 8x8 card blank. I added the doily then overlapped this with a greeting panel in white and silver mounted on pink card. I added a pink die cut inverted scalloped circle to the centre of the doily and then stuck the die cut pram to this adding pearl wheel centres and a bow to the pram. I cut the bunting alternating light and dark pink triangles which are 3 layers each to give dimension and I stuck foam letters on in white and pink once this was stuck to the card I coated the letters in stickles iridescent glue and left it to dry. Once dry I added the bows using glue gel. The final addition was the 'Its A Girl' charm which I attached using a pink ribbon bow.

On the inside I used a striped paper and added a doily with a greeting cut from more of the pink striped paper again using the inverted scalloped circle die and added pink card candy to the edge to give the gathered effect.
